Notes:
Not only is the orange color of this recipe appealing, but it tastes great as well.
Servings: 7
Preparation Time: 0.5 hours
Ingredients
1 pack kamar el din.
Sugar.
2 cups water.
2 tablespoons corn flour.
Nuts & raisins & coconut.
Cooking Instructions
Cut Qamar El Din into small pieces.
In a deep pan heat water.
Take off heat and add Qamar El Din.
Leave till Qamar El Din dissolves.
If there are still undissolved, pour in a blender and beat for a few seconds.
In a pan dissolve corn flour with Qamar El Din.
Add sugar.
Return pan to heat and stir constantly until boiling, reduce heat and simmer until thick.
Leave to cool for 20 minutes then serve in small serving bowls.
Sprikle nuts, raisins and coconut then refrigerate until serving.

To taste, or a lot
Mon, 2007-05-07 17:36Depends on what you are used to. We Egyptians are known for having a sweet tooth, so we add a lot. That can be too sweet for Westerners.
So, start with "add sugar to taste" and adjust as necessary.

apricot paste
Thu, 2011-02-03 13:11can I just make some Qamar El Din from dried apricots? how many grams or ounces of paste in the recipe? and, is there anything else in the paste besides apricots or is it just like fruit leather?
