Karkade is the dried petals of a Hibiscus plant called Roselle.
It is also the name in Egypt and Sudan of the drink made from that plant. Another name for it is 'Ennab عناب. It is now sold as a ready to reconstitute powder, but the traditional ingredient is preferred.
