Rice is served in many ways in Egypt. This one is brownish and tasty.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups rice.
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons margarine or butter
  • 4 cups water.
  • Salt.

Cooking Instructions

  • Wash rice well under running water and drain.
  • In a deep pan heat and stir butter or margarine and 1 cup rice over high heat until golden brown.
  • Add remaining rice and stir to mix with fried rice.
  • Add water and salt till water is almost absorbed, cover and move to low heat.
  • Leave to cook.
  • Serve in a platter.
